Biography

Alex Esposito: The acclaimed Italian bass-baritone opened the 2008–2009 season as Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro at L’Opéra de Toulouse. He performed the roles of Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Fernando in La Gazza Ladra at the Teatro Communale di Bologna and sang concert performances of Pulcinella in Paris and Turin.
Alex Esposito closed the season with the role of Figaro in Brussels. Engagements in the 2007–08 season included Publio in La Clemenza di Tito at Teatro Real de Madrid, the title role in Don Giovanni and Alidoro in La Cenerentola at ROH Covent Garden in London, Leporello in Don Giovanni at the Staatsoper in Munich with Kent Nagano, and the title role in Le nozze di Figaro at Salzburg Festival in Tokyo.
Other Alex Esposito's noteworthy recent engagements are Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at the Festival Mozart of La Coruna and Fernando in La Gazza Ladra at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Haydn’s Stabat Mater in the Concertgebouw under the baton of Hans Brüggen and Walter in Guillaume Tell in Rome under the baton of Antonio Pappano.
