His first four albums on DENON were received with critical acclaim by the music press: “on all levels...Prime Want List material“ (Fanfare), “there are other fine versions available of the Ginastera Sonata but none better than this one“ (John Duarte in Gramophone) and “ultimative Villa-Lobos“ (Musikmarkt).
His recording dedicated to the works of the Paraguayan composer Agustín Barrios-Mangoré was released on DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON in 2002 and was hailed: “an important addition to the guitar-catalogue” (American Record-Guide) and “the most engrossing 75 minutes I have ever heard” (Matanya Ophee). His latest Deutsche Grammophon recording, Odyssey, a musical voyage around the world with compositions from Spain, Russia, Japan, Australia, Puerto Rico, Perú and Cameroon, was released in April 2004, “a multivision for the ears and of briliant quality” (Akkustik Gitarre). “Odyssey” was selected „CD of the month“ by Ecos-Magazine.
