But Andy Miles is much more:
He combines the musical worlds of classic and jazz. He is just as well known in the jazz scene as he is on the classical concert stage. He is one of the few true crossover musicians, successfully building bridges between the classical and jazz genres because he is truly at home in both.
He also plays with renowned jazz musicians, including Frank Chastenier, John Goldsby, Rolf Kühn, Eddie Daniels, Paquito d'Rivera, Ekkehard Wölk, Jocelyn B. Smith and many more.
Andy Miles studied classical clarinet in Bremen and Hannover. In 1991, he became one of the youngest-ever principal clarinetists in one of Germany’s top orchestras, the Hamburg Philharmonic (Hamburg State Opera). Since 1992 he has had the same position with the WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne.
