David Pyatt won the prestigious BBC Young Musician of the Year competition at the age of 14. Following this success he has embarked on a solo career which has taken him throughout the United Kingdom, as well as to Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan. In the UK he has worked with many top orchestras and made his BBC Promenade debut in 1993. Since 1998 he has been Principal Horn of the London Symphony Orchestra, a position previously held by Barry Tuckwell. Recent concerto highlights with the LSO include Strauss Concerto No 2 under Antonio Pappano, the Britten Serenade with Daniel Harding and Ian Bostridge and Strauss Concerto No 1 under Bernard Haitink in London and Spain.
