Enzo Capuano

Enzo Capuano was born in Catanzaro. He later moved to Bologna where he studied chemistry at university. His artistic career started in Milan first as singer and then as a comedy actor. 1980 he attended the Conservatory G. Verdi in Milan where he graduated with a degree in vocal studies. In 1986 he met the soprano Maria Luisa Cioni with whom he began to study singing technique. In 1989, he finally decided to leave his career in chemistry and become a full time lyric singer.

Since then Mr. Capuano has enjoyed an international career singing the bass repertoire in many of the major houses around Europe including the Wiener Staatsoper, La Scala, La Monnaie, Prague, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Bologna, Florence, Turin, Rome, Genoa, Parma, Trieste, Pesaro, Seville and worked with conductors as Muti, Sawallisc, Oren, Guidarini, DiStefano, Bartoletti, Campanella, Metha, Haselbrock, Halsàsz. His wide-ranging repertory currently includes roles of Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Mozart.
