Evan Rogister

  • Conductor

The young American conductor Evan Rogister began his two-year tenure as the principal assistant conductor at the Deutsche Oper Berlin under its newly appointed general music director, Donald Runnicles, in August of 2009. He will make multiple appearances there as guest conductor, with repertoire to include Die Zauberflöte, La bohème, Rienzi, and Manon Lescaut.

Last season, Rogister- a dual citizen of Germany and the US - made his Seattle Opera debut to great critical acclaim conducting the renowned Robert Lepage production of Bluebeard’s Castle/Erwartung, about which the Seattle Post Intelligencer, said he “…made the orchestra sound like another -- electrifying with total attention to detail. He had the idiom of [Bartok and Schoenberg] in hand.” Other orchestral engagements in the recent past includedebuts with the Prague Chamber Symphony Orchestra and the Bochum Symphony; next season in addition to multiple performances at the Deutsche Oper, he guest conducts the Prague Radio Symphony.
