Evan Rogister received a bachelor of music degree at Indiana University where he first enrolled as a trombone major, switching to vocal studies under famed bass Giorgio Tozzi. He became interested in conducting during graduate studies in voice at the Juilliard School, and the school sent him to Paris for training at the National Conservatory. He then studied conducting with Gustav Meier at the Peabody Conservatory. In 2005, he attended an international conducting festival in Sofia, Bulgaria , where he encountered conductor Rossen Milanov, Music Director of the Haddonfield Symphony, who invited him to become Assistant Conductor.In 2006 the Houston Grand Opera and Patrick Summers created a conducting fellowship especially for him.In Houston, Mr. Rogister stepped in at short notice to lead performances of Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, making his house debut; his scheduled HGO debut was in the 2007-2008 season, leading performances of La bohème.
Evan Rogister was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, and currently resides in Berlin.
