Filippo Crivelli also holds Drama Master Classes, such as those at the Accademia Lirica in Busseto, conducted by Carlo Bergonzi. He has also been the author of important Radio and Television productions in the field of pop music.. He is particularly held in great esteem for his work in Operetta, Musicals, and Cabaret.
His collaboration with Opera Theaters includes, among others Teatro alla Scala(Luisa Miller, Fille di Regiment), La Piccola Scala (The Beggar's Opera by Benjamin Britten and John Gay, Pierrot Lunaire by Schoenberg, Orfeo Vedovo byA.Savinio, La Favola di Orfeo by A.Casella, Amore e Psiche by S.Sciarrino).
In 1967,after years of oblivion, he re-proposed the great Ballo Excelsior by Luigi Manzotti and Romualdo Marengo with the coreography of Ugo Dell'Ara; From that moment on, this production has had more than two hundred performances in the most prominent Italian Theaters (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, The Arena in Verona, Teatro Regio in Torino, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro alla Scala in Milan).
In 2002 this same production was performed at the Opéra Palais Garnier in Paris with enormous success, and will be seen again in a tournée in the United States in 2008. In 1993 he was given the Donizetti Award, having been the director of 20 new productions of that Composer. The Mozart-DaPonte Trilogy is among this director's biggest hits, along with a beautiful edition of La Finta Giardiniera as well, performed at La Piccola Scala with a revival for the Televisione Svizzera in Lugano.
Among the different productions of special importance are Johnny Spielt Auf by E.Krenek (Teatro Massimo in Palermo), Falstaff (Holland Festival), Work in Progress by Alexander Calder (Teatro deel'Opera in Rome), Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor by O.Nicolai (Teatro Massimo in Palermo), Un Giorno di Regno (Festival in Bregenz), The Trittico and La Rondine (Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires), Simon Boccanegra (Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile), and numerous premières of contemporary composers (Luciano Chailly, Salvatore Sciarrino, Alberto Bruni Tedeschi, Valentino Bucchi, Astor Piazzola, Gino Negri, G.F.Malipiero, H.W. Henze).
To be remembered among the most successful Operettas Die Fledermaus, Die Lustige Witwe, Eva, Il Paese dei Campanelli, Cin-Ci-La, Scugnizzo, Cavallino Bianco, Parata di Primavera, Wienerblut, La Reginetta delle Rose. His repertoire includes more than two hundred Operas, ranging from 16th Century Baroque Opera (Cimarosa, Paisiello, Galuppi), to the Great Melodramma Operas of the 17th and 18th Century. Recently the Teatro alla Scala and Teatro dell'Opera in Rome has present once again his "Fille du Regiment" with scenes and costumes by Franco Zeffirelli.
