Gabriele Laviahas been a protagonist in all of his productions, but he has also performed in other plays. He has been a television director for the following pieces: in 2000 Scenes from a Marriage by Bergman, in 1982 Drums in the Night by Brecht; and also the following film directions: in 1995 La lupa, in 1986 Sensi, in 1984 Scandalous Gilda, in 1983 The Prince of Homburg.
Gabriele Lavia has been the director of the following opera productions: in2001 Luisa Miller(Teatro San Carlo in Naples) by Verdi, in 1993 Cavalleria rusticana by Mascagni(Arena di Verona), and I pagliacci by Leoncavallo, in 1988 Maria Stuarda by Donizetti, in 1986 I masnadieri by Verdi, in 1984 I lombardi alla prima Crociata(Teatro alla Scala) by Verdi, in 1983 I pellegrini alla Mecca by Gluck.
Currently he is engaged at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, here he will take care of the direction of Le Nozze di Figaro and in the future of the Don Giovanni and Così Fan Tutte.
