Howard Shore is a winner of three Academy Awards, four Grammys and three Golden Globes. Howard Shore is universally hailed as one of today most honored composers and conductors. Howard Shore's work with Peter Jackson on The Lord of the Rings trilogy has been his most immense achievement, earning him three Academy Awards.

Howard Shore was credited as one of the original creators of Saturday Night Live. From 1975 to 1980 Howard Shore has been music director of Saturday Night Live.

Howard Shore's  association with David Cronenberg has resulted in his music scores for 12 of the director's films, including The Fly, Dead Ringers, Crash, Naked Lunch and Eastern Promises for which Howard Shore received a Genie Award. Shore also participated in other projects that included Martin Scorsese's The Departed, The Aviator, and Gangs of New York; Ed Wood's The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Doubtfire.
