Biography

During recent seasons Jeremy Menuhin has toured with the Sinfonia Varsovia and the Philharmonia Hungarica in Spain, Switzerland, and France and in Russia with the Camerata St Petersburg. In Britain he has appeared at the South Bank, Wigmore Hall, the Barbican, St.John's Smith Square, Symphony Hall Birmingham and the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.

He has played with many leading musicians, not least his father Yehudi Menuhin, Mstislav Rostropovich, Boris Pergamentschikov, Arleen Auger, Edith Mathis, Stephen Isserliss, Truls Moerk, Sara Mingardo, to mention a few, as well as Quartets such as the Chilingirian, Jerusalem, Alexander,

2004 saw the launch of a major project, in partnership with the English Symphony Orchestra, to record all Mozart’s 27 piano concerti for Nimbus. Jeremy Menuhin is both the soloist and director and the first recording is scheduled for release in 2005.

Jeremy Menuhin has recorded works by Schubert, Mozart, Debussy, Beethoven and Dvorak for Chandos, EMI and Ades.  His recording of Bartok's Sonatas for Violin and Piano with his father, Yehudi Menuhin, was awarded the prestigious Grand Prix du Disque.  His Schubert recordings for Dinemec Classics (four CDs to date) have been widely acclaimed "every harmonic side-step, every momentary change of pace is tasted to the full."  The Times. Recordings of Beethoven Piano Concertos, recorded with the Sinfornia Varsovia, and also Beethoven Piano Sonatas are scheduled for release in 2005 on the Dutch label Cobra.
