John Daszak sings frequently with English National Opera in major roles and appearances elsewhere include La Scala (Peter Grimes), the Bastille Paris (Boris in Kát’a Kabanová), Bayerische Staatsoper (Alwa), De Nederlandse Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, Bregenz Festival, The Royal Opera Covent Garden, Bice, Lausanne and Welsh National Opera. His busy concert career includes appearances at the BBC Proms and with the London Symphony, City of Birmingham Symphony, Hallé, BBC Symphony, BBC Scottish Symphony and BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Conductors he has appeared with include Colin Davis, Mark Elder, Sakari Oramo, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Kent Nagano and Richard Hickox. His most recent recording is the leading role in Respighi’s La campana sommersa made live with the Montpellier Opera.
Engagements in 2009/10 include Britten’sWar Requiem in Gdansk under Sir Neville Marriner; Edmund in the new production of Reimann’s Lear at the Komische Oper, Berlin; his debuts with Hamburg Opera as Aschenbach/Death in Venice, with the Vienna Staatsoper as Aron/Moses & Aron and with Frankfurt Opera as Captain Vere/Billy Budd; and Bernardo Novagerio/Palestrina at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich
