Julie Makerov

Biography
Julie Makerov made her debut with Canadian Opera Company to began the 2008–2009 season as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and returned to Toronto later in the season to sing the title role in Dvorak’s Rusalka, which she reprised at the Cesky-Krumlov Music Festival in theCzech Republic. She began her 2007–2008 season at the Saito Kinen Festival in Japan for the role of Lisa in Pique Dame, conducted by Seiji Ozawa. Ms. Makerov made her European debut in the title role of Tosca in Erfurt followed by performances of the same role in Frankfurt. Ms. Makerov joined the Metropolitan Opera for Gerhilde in Die Walküre, Lady-in-Waiting in Macbeth, and Mme. Peronskaya and the Shopkeeper in War and Peace.
In the 2006–2007 season she made her debut with Canadian Opera Company, where she sang both Gerhilde in Die Walküre and Freia in Das Rheingold. She traveled to Sarasota Opera and Palm Beach Opera for engaging performances of Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly.
