Magdalena Kožená is considered one of the greatest operatic Mezzo-Sopranos in classical music. As an exclusive artist with Deutsche Grammophon, Magdalena Kožená recorded her debut solo recital disc that included works by Dvorak, Janacek and Martinu. This recording won the prestigious Gramophone Solo Vocal Award in 2001.
More releases followed and include a Mozart album with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Sir Simon Rattle as a conductor, a Handel and a Vivaldi disc with the Venice Baroque and conductor Andrea Marcon as well as a solo recital "Songs my mother taught me" with Malcolm Martineau. Magdalena Kožená was a winner of the 2004 Gramophone Awards Artist of the Year.
