Mahan Esfahani: Currently on the roster of BBC New Generation Artists, and a recipient of the Borletti Buitoni award, Mahan Esfahani is quickly gaining international attention as one of the most exciting early keyboard specialists around - both as soloist, as chamber partner to a wide variety of Instrumentalists and singers and as a player/director in repertoire which can range from the 14th century to the early 19th century. As part of the BBC New Generation Artists scheme, his next concert
o engagements will be Viktor Kalabis' Concerto for Harpsichord and Orchestra (1975) with the BBC Concert Orchestra, Bohuslav Martinů's Concerto for Harpsichord and Orchestra (1935) with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Jiri Belohlavek and Poulenc's Concert Champêtre with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He will give a live BBC Radio 3 lunchtime solo recital in the Wigmore Hall in April 2010 and has been asked to perform the inaugural recital on Wanda Landowska's newly restored harpsichord in the Library of Congress, Washington in May 2010.
