Biography
One of the greatest operatic mezzo sopranos in history, Marilyn Horne launched the Marilyn Horne Foundation in 1994 to support young singers and the art of the song. She is Vocal Program Director at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. In addition to MAW, Each season she is engaged for master class residencies at the University of Oklahoma at Norman, Oberlin College Conservatory of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Lyric Opera of Chicago and the University of Maryland at College Park. She continues to appear in concert in "An Evening of Popular American Classics" with Tony award winning conductor and pianist Don Pippin, and in "Just Between Friends" with the legendary star of cabaret and Broadway, Barbara Cook.
