Miquel Farré was born in Terrassa (Barcelona, Spain). He is one of the most outstanding pianists of his generation and a renowned figure in the contemporary concert panorama. Musicality, temperamental strength and communicative power are values that the critics highlight consistently when they refer to the performing art of this artist. These qualities endow his versions of the great repertoire for piano with an attractive personality.
His training includes renowned figures such as Tomàs Buxó, Sofia Puche, Pierre Sancan, Stefan Askenasse and Wilhelm Kempff. At 18 years-old he was awarded the First International María Canals Prize. Farré has also gained the highest distinctions granted by the Barcelona Conservatory of Music: the Extraordinary Prize, the Honourable Prize for Virtuosity and the Onía Farga Prize.
