Pascal Amoyel: After a baccalauréat in the sciences at the age of seventeen, he devoted himself entirely to music. He entered the Paris Conservatoire (CNSM) in the class of Jacques Rouvier and Pascal Devoyon, where he was awarded premiers prix for piano and chamber music in 1992.
The same year he also received awards from the Menuhin and Cziffra Foundations, and went on to win first prize in the Paris International Competition for Young Pianists. He also took advanced classes with great masters including Lazar Berman, Aldo Ciccolini, Pierre Sancan, Daniel Blumenthal and Charles Rosen.
As a young teenager he met György Cziffra and spent several years working with him in France and Hungary, an experience that made a very deep impression on him. Moreover, he is now regarded as one of Cziffra's spiritual heirs.
