Renate Behle's international career has taken her to the world’s most renowned opera houses. She has sung Leonore (“Fidelio”) at the MET, Vienna State Opera and the Salzburg Festival; Brünnhilde in Cologne, Stuttgart and Austin, Texas; Isolde in Los Angeles and Houston; Senta at the Deutsche Oper Berlin; Färberin at Dresden’s Semperoper; Ortrud in Hamburg, Dresden and Madrid; as well as Salome at La Scala di Milano.
She has enjoyed a close association with Hamburg State Opera, where she has sung all the major roles of her repertoire, from Sieglinde to Brünnhilde, Elisabeth in “Tannhäuser“, Lady Macbeth of Mzensk and Ariadne.

Since 2000 Renate Behle is teaching voice as a professor at the Hamburg School of Music.
