Riccardo Frizza was born in Brescia, Italy on December 14th, 1971. He studied at the Academy of Music in Milan, with Gilberto Serembe at the Music Academy of Pescara, and with Jorma Panula at the Philharmonic Academy in Verona. From 1996 to 1999, he furthered his studies with Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Chigiana Academy in Siena. In 1998 he won the International Competition of the South Bohemia State-Philharmonic Conductors (Czech Republic). From 1994 to 2000, he was a conductor in residence for the Symphonic Orchestra of Brescia, directing the Beethoven Symphonies and other symphonic repertory.
