Robert Pomakov

Canadian bass Robert Pomakov has already earned attention for his unique voice and musicianship in opera, concert and recital. Only 27 years old, he is a recent graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. During the current season, he sings the role of Leporello in Don Giovanni under the baton of William Lacey at the Canadian Opera Company. He makes another appearance at the COC as Bottom in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, conducted by Anne Manson. He also tackles the role of Quince in a new Houston Grand Opera production of the same work. On the concert stage, Pomakov can be seen with the National Arts Centre Orchestra in a performance of the Lord Nelson Mass and with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra performing Bach’s cantata, Ich habe genug.
