The Russian soprano Tatiana Melnychenko began her artistic career in the Opera Theatre of Odessa – a city of great operatic tradition.
   In 2000 the great Spanish tenor Alfredo Kraus chose Tatiana Melnychenko  for the singing department of the Queen Sofia School of Music in Madrid where she stayed to completed her training with renowned mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza.
   The period from 1996 to 2005 was a time of great success for Tatiana Melnychenko at highly prestigious international singing competitions - she  won the ones in Toulouse, France (Grand Prix), "Julián Gayarre" in Pamplona, Spain (1st Prize), received by world famous tenor Jose Carreras; Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic (1st Prize), Verviers, Belgium (2nd Prize), "A. Fernández Carriedo”  of the Guerrero Foundation  (1st Prize) and  “Francisco Alonso”  (1st Prize) , both in Madrid.
