Thomas Dausgaard began his tenure as chief conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra/DR in August 2004 and this season includes a major European tour. He continues as principal conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and their recent activities have included concerts at the Ravinia and Mostly Mozart festivals in the US and their debut at the Proms in London.
This season they will record Beethoven Symphony no. 9, the culmination of their Beethoven season for Simax. Thomas Dausgaard also enjoys strong relationships with orchestras including the Bayerischer Rundfunk and Leipzig Gewandhaus, both of which he conducted on tour as well as in their home cities last season.
