Jaume Torrent studied guitar with Graciano Tarragó, student of M. Llobet and one of the composers of guitar music of the 20th Century, at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceo de Barcelona and after graduating won the "Rosa Figueras de Carranza" and "Santa Cecilia" and a grant from the University Foundation " Agustí Pedro i Pons".

Since 1975 his concert career has been intense and uninterrupted and he has appeared at important international European music festivals like Sceaux, Cadaquès, Chartreux, Torroella de Montgrí, Ludvigsburg, Matzen and Barcelona. He has given guitar classes in cities like Vienna, Dallas, Chatellerault, Rust and Vilaller.
