About
John Christopher Williams, called a "foremost ambassador of the guitar", was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1941. In 1956 John Williams began his music studies at the Royal College of Music in London. He studied piano as the College did not have a guitar department. John Williams, upon graduation, was offered to establish the guitar department which he did becoming its head for 2 years.
By the early 1960s John Williams performed with enormous success in London, Paris, Madrid, Japan, Russia and the US. Invitations from the world's music capitals follow and John Williams began touring the world performing both solo and with orchestra as well as at the regular radio and TV shows.
