Maria Luigi Borsi: The Italian soprano Maria Luigi Borsi is not only appreciated for her fine lyric voice she is also becoming well known for her ability as a stage actress. Recent performances include 'The Lament to Yitzak' at the Parco della Musica in Rome with Maazel, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan at the Taormina Festival, in Oviedo and also with the Orchestra Toscanini at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome all with Lorin Maazel, and also with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nezet-Seguin.
She also sang a Puccini Gala with the Salzburg Camerata, a Gala concert in Tokyo and Respighi's 'Il Tramonto' with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maurizio Benini. Her career also took her to Salzburg and Opera di Roma for Desdemona in a new production of 'Otello' conducted by Muti, in which she is said to have given a "touching" performance.
