Biography

Maria Luigi Borsi has also just sung Donna Elvira in 'Don Giovanni" with the Israel Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta, also at the Teatro Municipale Salerno, Fiordiligi in 'Cosi fan tutte' at the Teatro Massimo, Palermo and 'La Traviata' with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Myung-Whun Chung. Future engagements are to include Magda in 'La Rondine' at the Toulon Opera, Liu in 'Turandot' at the Choregies d'Orange and 'La Boheme' at the Liceu in Barcelona and 'Cosi fan tutte' (Fiordiligi) at the Teatro Bellini, Catania. She will also sing the Verdi Requiem in Madrid with the Orquesta de la Radio Televisión Española and a Classical Christmas concert at Vang Church, Hamar in Norway for NRK1 TV hosted by her Highness Princess Märtha Louise of Norway, also with Mari and Hakon Samuelsen and the Trondheim Soloists.

Furthermore she will also be making her role debut as Cio Cio San in 'Madama Butterfly' with the Royal Danish Opera and her American debut as Desdemona in 'Otello' with the Cincinnati Opera Association. Solo concerts are also a discipline in which Maria Luigia shines as she demonstrated recently at the Maison de la Culture d'Amiens and Abbaye de Paunat. Future recital venues will amongst others, include the Wigmore Hall.
