Michaela Martens: The Boston Globe hails Michaela Martens for her “dense, color-saturated voice” and declares: “She is a passionate and sympathetic vocal actress.” The 2007–2008 season brought her triumphant last-minute debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Amme in Die Frau ohne Schatten. She also returned to the Metropolitan Opera for Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor and later in the season for the company’s productions of Satyagraha and Tan Dun’s The First Emperor prior to singing Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro with Santa Fe Opera.
