Born in Romania, Silvia Marcovici studied with Professor Stefan Ghiorghiu at the conservatory in Bucharest. Her international debut was at the age of sixteen, when she performed in The Hague under Bruno

In 1972,  Silvia Marcovici has been invited by Leopold Stokowsky to play the Glazunov violin concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra for Bis. Recently she also recorded the Nielsen violin concerto,
