Thorsten Buttner

About
German tenor Thorsten Buttner started singing at the age of five as a boy soprano in the children’s choir at the State Opera in Stuttgart. In 2000, he joined the Mozarteum in Salzburg where he studied with Boris Bakow, Lilian Sukis and Breda Zakotnik. In 2006, he was granted a scholarship with the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and in 2007 was a prize-winner at the International Singing Competition Schloss Laubach, near Frankfurt. Most recently, he was awarded the prestigious Lilli Lehmann Award by the Mozarteum Salzburg.
