Umberto Clerici was born in Turin in 1981 and he began the study of cello when he was five at the Suzuki School of Turin. Winner of several prizes, national and international competitions (among many: III Prize and 3 special Awards at the “Antonio Janigro” International Competition in Zagreb on 2004 and Special Prize at the Rostropovich Cello Competition in Paris on 2005), in 2000 he received his diploma from Turin’s Conservatory with full marks.
